Benedetti Architects’ designs for overhauling the RIBA’s London headquarters have been shown off during a first round of consultation on refurbishment plans

Proposals for the £58.8 million ‘comprehensive refurbishment’ of the Grade II*-listed headquarters at 66 Portland Place were put to RIBA members at the end of May. A consultation ran until mid-June on the wider £85 million investment in the RIBA’s collections and technology systems.

Potential alterations to the outside of the 90-year-old George Grey Wornum-designed building were shown off during the consultation, with visuals featuring a new pavement café and accessible entrance on Weymouth Street.
